Father & Son · Miniature Painting

Two painters.
One hobby desk.

We started out just wanting to paint cool-looking miniatures. What we found was patience, teamwork, and a rare kind of peace — two inches at a time.

We didn't plan on learning patience.

When my son and I first sat down at the hobby desk, the goal was simple — paint some cool looking miniatures. What we didn't realize was that we were signing up for a masterclass in patience.

We started exactly where you'd expect: messy palettes, paint way too thick, and a lot of mistakes. But that's where the best parts of the story happened. A ruined cloak became a chance to learn dry brushing. We started celebrating small wins — the high five when he finally nails the glow on a tiny weapon, or when I finish a base we're both proud of.

In a world that moves so fast, spending two hours debating which shade of blue to use is a rare kind of peace. We aren't professionals. We're just a team learning to thin our paints the hard way — and loving every minute of it.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot.

Do you paint commissions?

Not currently — the hobby desk is a father & son project and we want to keep it that way for now. That said, if you have a cool project you want to talk about, feel free to reach out at miniforgedad@gmail.com.

What miniatures do you paint?

Mainly Warhammer 40K and Age of Sigmar, but we're open to anything that looks cool. We've also dabbled in Infinity, skirmish games, and the odd historical kit when something catches our eye.

I'm new to the hobby — where do I start?

Grab a contrast paint starter set, a cheap brush, and one model you actually like the look of. Don't buy a whole army before you know you enjoy painting. Watch YouTube videos (ours included!) and don't be afraid to mess up — every mistake teaches you something useful.

How often do you stream and post?

We try to go live on Twitch every Tuesday and Thursday at 7PM CT. YouTube videos go up weekly, usually on Saturdays. Follow us on Instagram for the in-between updates and WIP shots.

How can I support the channel?

The best things you can do are subscribe on YouTube, follow on Twitch, and share our stuff with other hobbyists. If you want to go further, we have a Patreon with early access and exclusive content.
